Sarah E. Dance Brown

Sarah Elizabeth Dance Brown, known for her love of flowers and herbs, history and genealogy, and family and friends, died November 5, 2013.

Sarah, born April 13, 1925 was a daughter of Joseph Gray and Florence Mann Dance and was the wife of O. M. “Buddy” Brown. Sarah was a graduate of Texas State College for Women, now Texas Women’s University, and a member of the Daughters of the American Revolution and the Daughters of the Republic of Texas.

Sarah was predeceased by her parents, her husband, and her sister, Mary Eloise McNeill.

She is survived by her daughters and sons-in-law Kay and Jim Woodley and Mary Alice and Steve Beachy; by her grandchildren Susan Woodley and Reed Adams, Ross and Chrissy Woodley, Matthew and Rachel Beachy, and John and Becky Beachy; and by her great grandchildren Mason and Chase Adams, Zoe and Ryan Woodley, Cole, Seth and Katherine Beachy, and Boede Beachy.

A graveside service is planned for Sunday, November 10 at 2 p.m. at the Chappell Hill Masonic Cemetery with the Rev. Nancy Ross Creason officiating.

Sarah had requested that any memorials be made to the Chappell Hill Masonic Cemetery Association, the Chappell Hill Library and Museum, or the Chappell Hill United Methodist Church.
