Obituary

Sharren Kay “Poole” Giles of Brenham, Texas died Thursday, October 15, 2009 in her home. Born July 31, 1945 in Amarillo, Texas, she was the daughter of Walter and Christine Poole. Sharren grew up the best friend and sister of Marilyn Prater “Poole” Garrett. Sharren married Clarence Alfred Giles, the love of her life, 47 years ago on October 20, 1962 in Amarillo, Texas.

After graduating from Amarillo High School, Sharren pursued her career as a beautician and ran her own beauty shop. She was an active member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints and served the Lord diligently and faithfully for many years.

Gifted with multiple talents, she enjoyed quilting, sewing and cooking. Her passions in life were serving her family and friends and researching her genealogy. Sharren felt her greatest achievements in this life are that of being a Wife, Mother and Granny.

Sharren is survived by her husband Clarence of Brenham, Texas, son LeLand Giles and his wife Stacy Massey Giles of McKinney, Texas, daughter, Kescia Giles Mason of Albuquerque, New Mexico, son Rick Giles and his wife Kirsten Madsen Giles of Buffalo, Wyoming and daughter, Sherry Giles Stevens and her husband John Stevens of Canton, Georgia. She is survived by nine grandsons, Justin and Chris Mason, Blake and Bryant Giles, Dallin, Conner and Jake Stevens and Cody and Tucker Giles and three beautiful granddaughters, Kayla and Katlin Giles and Shae Stevens. She was blessed with three great grandchildren, Braxton and Alex Mason and Presley Giles. Her sister Marilyn Garret and husband Joe Garrett of Amarillo, a sister-in-law, Shirley Giles Orr and husband Dale Orr of Amarillo and brother-in-law, Kenneth Giles, also survives Sharren along with many nephews and nieces, cousins’ family and friends.

Services will be held on Monday, October, 19, 2009 at 2:00 pm, at the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints, 1400 Neibuhr, Brenham, Texas and on Tuesday, October 20, 2009 at 2:00 p.m. at The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints, 5410 Bell St., Amarillo, Texas. Viewing in Amarillo will be from 12:00 p.m.-1:00 p.m.
