Shirley Noyes Greene

Shirley Greene, 84, of Brenham passed away Saturday, November 11, 2006 at her residence.

Mrs. Greene was born October 3, 1922 in Framingham, Massachusetts to Carleton F. Noyes and Helen Pearl Robertson Noyes. She received her Master’s Degree in Education from Framingham State Teacher’s College and taught at St. John’s College and also in public and private institutions. On September 2, 1978 she married Palmer G. Greene in Houston. She was a member of the First Baptist Church in Brenham where she attended the Joy Sunday School class.

Her parents, first husband Dick Crosby; second husband Palmer Greene and brother Allan Noyes preceded her in death.

Survivors include: daughters Carol Crosby of Houston, Anne Beyer of Houston, Jill Griffin of San Diego, California, Molly Mauldin of Corpus Christi, Anne Marie Walden of Dallas and Mary Jo Pearson of Dallas; son Palmer Greene of Houston; 13 grandchildren and 3 great-grandchildren.

Visitation with the family will be held from 5:00 to 7:00 p.m., Wednesday, November 15, 2006 at Brenham Memorial Chapel.

Funeral services will be held at 10:00 a.m., Thursday, November 16, 2006 at the First Baptist Church in Brenham with Rev. Steve Ponder and Rev. Troy Sikes officiating. Graveside services will follow at 2:00 p.m. in Memorial Oaks Cemetery, 13001 Katy Freeway, Houston, Texas.

Pallbearers will be her grandchildren. Honorary pallbearers will be members of Joy Sunday School Class (Senior Saints).
