Sophie Barbara Zientek

Sophie Barbara Zientek, 80, of Brenham passed away Friday, March 10, 2006 at Trinity Care Center.

She was born April 11, 1925 in Brenham, Texas to John and Frances Bilski Zientek. She was baptized on April 12, 1925 by Msgr. Charles Wiesnerowski at St. Mary’s Catholic Church. Her sponsors were Joseph Bilski and Pelagia Merski. Her first communion was on October 25, 1935. She was confirmed May 2, 1936 at St. Mary’s Catholic Church. Ms. Zientek attended St. Mary’s Catholic School.

Ms. Zientek is preceded in death by her parents; sister and brother-in-law Mary and Stanley Januszewski.

She is survived by brothers Stanley Zientek of Whitney, Alois and wife Regina Zientek, of Brenham, Julian and wife Delia Zientek of Shawnee, Oklahoma, Msgr. Benedict Zientek of Brenham, Msgr. Boleslaus Zientek of Houston; numerous nieces, nephews, great nieces, and great nephews.

A rosary will be recited at 7:00 P.M. on Sunday, March 12, 2006 at Brenham Memorial Chapel with Msgr. Boleslaus Zientek officiating.

Funeral mass will be celebrated at 10:30 A.M. on Monday, March 13, 2006 at St. Mary’s Catholic Church with Msgrs. Benedict Zientek, Boleslaus Zientek, Harry Mazurkiewicz, and Benedict Mazurkiewicz as celebrants. Burial will follow at Calvary Catholic Cemetery.

Pallbearers will be Patrick Zientek, David Majewski, Paul Bilski, Mark Januszewski, Otto Bilski, and Pat Majewski.
