Sophie was born on August 31, 1928 in Chappell Hill, Texas to John T. and Katie Mikolajewski Kubeczka. She was baptized and confirmed at St. Stanislaus Catholic Church in Chappell Hill. Sophie married the Love of her Life Leon Wallace Levandowski on October 15, 1949 in Chappell Hill. They moved to Houston in 1951 where they raised their 4 children. Sophie was truly the heart and soul of the family core insuring that each of her children was ingrained with the faith of God and the work ethic deserving of his approval. She was a mother and a friend to everyone she met and had a love for children that was undisputable. Her hobbies included sewing, cooking and baking; to this day we have never tasted an apple pie, fried chicken, chicken salad, turkey dressing or homemade candy that compares to hers. Sophie worked in the school cafeteria for many years while her children were of school age and went on to care for the children of Carolyn and John Hinch from the time they were toddlers through high school. After retiring Sophie and Leon moved to Hempstead, Texas to enjoy their golden years.

She is survived by: daughters Barbara Sisk, Susan Levandowski; sons Leon Wallace Levandowski Jr. and wife Beverly, Patrick Levandowski and wife Tanya; eight grandchildren; seventeen great-grandchildren; two great-great-grandchildren; brothers Johnnie Kubeczka, Antone Kubeczka.

Preceding her in death were her husband Leon; parents John and Katie; brothers Harry Kubeczka, Mike Kubeczka and Alois Kubeczka; sisters Agnes Kubeczka, Stella Kmiec, Sarah Dismukes, Caroline Heise.
