Chris and I met in1988 when I was transferred to Houston and became instant friends. We have stayed in continual touch throughout the rest of her time here on earth. Chris became my Best friend, and like another sister. We vacationed together, visiting each others homes for days and weeks. We knew each others families and spent endless hours on the phone discussing everything from politics to the weather. We have laughed together, cried together and prayed together over the years. I am totally heartbroken but thankful that she is no longer suffering. I know she is praising Our Lord and Saviour and celebrating with her loved ones in Heaven today.
My heart goes out to Carin and Denni and all of the family members during this time.
Until we meet again, Chris, I will always have you in my heart.
Thank you Lord for blessing me with this dear friend/sister. AMEN

Generous, kind, creative, joyful, and loyal are just a few words to describe Aunt Chris. These traits passed down in not only her daughters but her grandkids as well. What a wonderful group you all are and I'm blessed to call y'all family.
I will miss Aunt Chris' smile, laughter, and joy. What a beautiful heavenly reunion it must have been for her to embrace her Earl, her hilarious Mom, and many others.
Until we meet again. Love you always Aunt Chris!

Chris came into my life as a sister-in-law when I was eight years old. She married my oldest brother. I remember the first time I saw her. She wore a pale pink elegant fitting sheath dress and high heels. She was the most beautiful woman I had ever seen up close! Of course, she was only eighteen at the time! Although, her marriage to my brother did not endure, she did! She became my sister and remained so the rest of her life. That was her choice to love our mother and all of us! Chris cared for me as an older sister, making sure I had funds to attend church camp, made beautiful twirling costumes for me in high school, and did too much more to say here. When I married Joe and we had children, they were hers to love, also. She, Carin, and Denni were the first to visit the hospital when our son, Rome, was born. She loved Clay and Leigh Ann when they arrived. Chris always bore gifts to everyone she cared for. Many were made by her talented mind and hands! I was recipient of many! What a gifted and marvelous person! What a Sister-in-Christ she was to me and forever will be! Thankful you are with our Lord now, but this world below will miss you ever so much! Love you, Chris!

My prayers to Denni and Carin. Aunt Chris has always been family to us. Sense the day I was born, she has always been loving to us all. And has a special place in my heart just as the both of you do. It's no loss. It's a gain in Heaven. And is now with other family of ours like Leigh Ann and Sorrel. Just to name two that passed away, way too young. I love you both so much. You are God's children!! And one day, we will all be together forever. God bless and I am very sorry for the loss of your mother. She was absolutely amazing.

Representing the family of my father, Harvey McAtee, we are saddened by your loss, but know Chris is in heaven with Jesus. Chris was a close friend of my dad and stayed in touch with me over the last 25 years.
Chris was a great host(which my dad took advantage of more than once) and was a real lady
