Obituary

T.W. Gajeske, 89 of Brenham, passed away Saturday February 14, 2004 at Gazebo Terrace. Theofil William Gajeske was born February 12, 1915 to William and Mary Hahn Gajeske in the Berlin Community of Washington County. He was baptized and confirmed in Eben-Ezer Lutheran Church of Berlin and attended Berlin School. T.W. began 61 years of marriage with Bernice Kramer on February 8, 1943 in Salem Lutheran Church of Welcome. He was a member of St. Paul’s Evangelical Lutheran Church of Brenham, Sons of Hermann and the Prairie Hill Shooting Club. He was the owner of Brenham Memorial Shop, monument company and cemetery services. After his retirement, he cared for his farm and cattle. He enjoyed his trucks, tractors and loved entertaining his grandchildren.

He was survived by his wife Bernice Kramer Gajeske of Brenham; sons, Michael Gajeske and wife Shirley of Brenham, Larry Gajeske and friend Virginia Meschwitz of Brenham and Robert Gajeske and friend Gayle Lillie of Willis, TX; grandchildren, Charles Gajeske, Allen Gajeske, John Gajeske and wife Karissa, Thomas Gajeske and fiancé Wendy Koker all of Brenham and Shanan Gajeske and friend Clint Sauer of Huffman, TX; 1 great grandson, Hunter Sauer; brother, Bennie Gajeske and wife Elda of Brenham; sisters, Hattie Schultz of Brenham, Alice Nickel of San Antonio and Bernice Luska and husband Leon of San Antonio; sisters-in-law, Viola Kramer of Brenham, Leona Surovik of Rosenberg, TX, Beatrice Helweg of Shelby; numerous nieces, nephews and other relatives and friends.

He was preceded in death by his parents, 6 brothers-in-law, 1 sister-in-law and 2 grandsons, Jeffrey Scott Gajeske and Robert Gajeske, Jr.

The family will receive friends from 6 – 8:00 p.m. Monday February 16, 2004 in Brenham Memorial Chapel.

Funeral services will be held 2:00 p.m. Tuesday February 17, 2004 in St. Paul’s Evangelical Lutheran Church of Brenham with Pastor Lawrence Bade and Pastor Kim Little-Brooks officiating. Burial will follow in Prairie Lea Cemetery.

Pallbearers include grandchildren Charles, Allen, John, Thomas and Shanan Gajeske, and nephew Ronnie Gajeske.

Memorials may be given to St. Paul’s Radio Ministry or an organization of your choice.
