Thomas Carlton Blake, Jr. - Guestbook

My heart is sad as I find out that Carlton has passed. I knew him well in High School & he was always nice & considerate of others. He was one of the smartest people I knew & I always knew he would be successful in life. So sad he was taken so soon. My sincere condolences go out to the family even if it's 8 years later.

RIP Dear Carlton

I send all my deepest condolences to Carlton's family
Carlton and I worked together at SSL many years ago but always stayed in touch and remained good friends. I had just spoke to him a month before this tragedy happened. Bruce Millet, Carlton and I were on the phone together having a great conversation and laughing it up.
He will be truly missed my many including me.
All my deepest condolences

Professionally, we worked together in recording studios and on research and design projects, both here in the US and around the world. He became invaluable as a member of my design team when I launched my own company, and brought a much needed sense of reality to my dreams, and in turn, helped make them a reality.

Personally, we have searched together for Dr. Pepper on three continents, his was the first Thanksgiving I went to when I moved to the States, and in recent years, he spent Christmases with my family. We spent a night in the Mojave desert waiting for the inaugural flight of SpaceShipOne and he was one of very few people I was happy to do a ten hour road trip with. His encyclopedic knowledge of everything from technical papers to British comedy shows (he could quote verbatim from most) was the source of many a long conversation, and the solution to others. Most of all, we would laugh!

Carlton was a much valued colleague and collaborator, but above all, a dear friend of mine for over 25 years. I miss him. I extend my heartfelt condolences to his family and many friends from around the world. His memory will live on in every one of us.

The Carlton's family;
I was friends with Carlton in "the old day" back in Ft. Smith in the 70's. We were both audio engineers. I was a local DJ and musician. We crossed paths many times and even worked together occasionally. I always knew him to be especially bright and witty. He never had a bad word for anybody and was always eager to help out any time he could. We used to laugh when I frequently told him that the smoke from his soldering iron would burn off his eyebrows... He will be missed by many.
Our most sincere condolences to the family and friends of this great guy.

Carlton was one in a million. I met him when I was attending the University of Phoenix bachelors program. We had great times struggling through the program and completing essays together. I went on to the Master's Degree and he followed up with his Master's at Colorado University.

We got together again in Burbank and he helped me setup Nap-Stik.. We had been having difficulty in getting the product out but Carlton always encouraged us to go on.

He loved his cat and we often played with it while Carlton programmed.. His favorite drink was Doctor Pepper.. I always thought he should buy stock in it as he was one of its best customers..

Carlton was a real friend and we do not know what happened, but it was an honor knowing him and remembering his patience and kindness.. we will greatly miss him.. his example of being a friend should be used by us all..TK

Our deepest condolences to Carlton’s family. Unfortunately words, cards, or flowers do not seem adequate to convey the sense of loss you have experienced.

Carlton and I went to DuVall, Darby and Northside together. I remember Carlton, “way back when,” coming home from school and organizing Kelly, Nancy and Bits until their father returned home from work. At night, Carlton would search the airwaves for distant overseas radio stations to document and receive written confirmation back from the station. Carlton tested and passed his amateur radio exams to get his radio license while in the sixth grade. Carlton pursued his interests in science and electronics throughout school. The next time I saw Carlton was in the mid 70’s when he was working on a music video simulcast with KFPW TV and KISR radio. I presume this was the start of his future in to the entertainment and audio world. The last time Carlton and I met and talked was at the passing of his mother. We will miss you Carlton.

I am so sorry to hear about this. Carlton was the smartest kid in the class at Northside High School. I had many classes with him and I remember him fondly. I am so happy to say that upon looking at his obituary I see that he was successful in life. As smart as he was that was bound to happen. When we were kids I got to meet his father while he was working at the local newspaper. That was the first time I had ever meet a columnist. I thought that was so cool.
My sincere regrets on his passing. Carlton was cool too.

Betsy, I am so sorry to hear of your loss. I am keeping you and the entire Blake family in my thoughts and prayers. I lost my brother three years ago and it is a hard thing. There are still times I think about emailing a joke to him or asking investment advice or asking about the weather and it hurts when I realize all over again that I can't. I pull out fun memories and cherish the time we shared. Mom tells me that I was horribly afraid of a particular stuffed animal when I was about four-years-old and she would place this toy wherever she did not want me. One day Mom and my sis went shopping and while they were gone, my big brother helped me get over my fear of the toy. I was petting it and talking to it when Mom came home. I think Bill got in trouble! If you ever just want to talk, Facebook me. Upholding you in prayer! Linda Darlene Evans NHS Class of 1975
