TOMMY WAS A GREAT GUY,THE BEST COUSIN EVER. I WILL MISS HIM VERY MUCH. I LOVED THAT EASY GRIN, SLOW TALK, AND BEST OF ALL JUST THE WAY HE LOVED YOU. I WAS GOING TO SAY SOMETHING ABOUT THE TIGHT JEANS BUT I DON'T GUESS I WILL (HA HA)

I had the pleasure of knowing this wonderful man for 5-1/2 years. He wasn't my father-in-law...he was/is my DAD. I am so very proud to be a part of the Brent family. Dad is in heaven and will continue to love us and help protect us. Thanks to everyone who has written here, sent flowers and came to the funeral. Please feel free to share your happy memories. BTU will not be the same with out you...We will not be the same with out you. We miss you already. You've been a great friend. You will forever be in my heart.

So sorry to hear of your loss. May the God of comfort help you to deal with your loss. We have the wonderful promise of a resurrection of our loved ones, John 5:28. Also the promise of a better future here on earth, Revelation 21:4 says, "And he will wipe out every tear from their eyes and death will be no more, neither will mourning nor outcry nor pain be anymore, the former things have passed away. Take comfort in your good memories and in the many promises we have from God.

My prayers are with Tommy's family and friends. May memories of times shared fill your hearts with smiles and peace. Galena Park class of '67 will miss him greatly. His big ole grin, his easy canter and way, and his big ole cowboy hat. So glad we all shared in a "60th" birthday party last yr. We could go for yrs without seeing each other but with Tommy, it was like yesterday. May God strengthen you all.

I am so sorry that Tommy is gone...but he will always be in our hearts and he will be remembered by all the people he has touched during his journey. Having gone to school with Tommy at Galena Park High School and Galena Park Jr. High School I can tell you everyone loved Tommy Brent. Tommy was always the same person and he made everyone feel "special". I am glad that God allowed him to be at our 60th B.D. Party last year so we could visit...it had been so long since I had seen him. He looked healthy and I had no idea that he had cancer. He loved his family more than anything! He was a wonderful young boy who grew into a wonderful, gentle man. I will pray for the family that God will give you comfort and peace during this difficult time.

So sorry for your loss. I admired Tom's strength. He obviously cared, deeply, for his family. Tom seemed to have a sort of resilient hope that kept him from discouragement. He was a man I was proud to know.

My condolences to the family.

To the family of Tom Brent, I worked with Tom for three years and I am thankful for having the honor of being his employee. What I admired most was that he had courage to stand up for his beliefs and was stubborn to get his way when he knew he was right in the argument if any. He liked visiting with employees to make them feel recognized and to show his appreciation of their hard work. Tom and I had very few breaks but when we did we spoke about what mattered most in our lives - our family. I want to say thank you Tom for hiring me and being a superb supervisor and boss - I will never forget you. Irma

I am so sorry for your loss. Tommy was a very kind, caring, and funloving person. I am so glad I was blessed to have been with him sharing memories and stories last October at our 60th Birthday Party for Galen Park Class of 67. He was there...looking good in his cowboy hat, jeans, and boots...making us all feel special. Growing up right around the corner from us and going to the same Galena Park schools all our lives gave us some fun memories. I know Tommy cared for his ill parents and that is a special MAN that does that...He loved his family and his friends. Tommy, you will be missed especiall at the Class of 67 Functions...but don't think we won't talk about you...you know we will.

To say we'll miss you will be an understatement at best. Your memories will live on forever. Allen and I will undoubtedly always cherish our fishing trip to Matagorda Bay with you. And although Allen refused to get back in your boat again after that trip, it sure made for some good laughs!
I myself will miss that Tomcat roaming the halls several times a day on his way to the dock. That "Tomcat" as i called him, was fearless,feisty,bold and strong just like a tomcat, yet as gentle and kindhearted as a true COWBOY should be. Allen will miss his coffee drinking buddy for sure and the conversations that came with it.

I would like to extend my sincere sympathies to Tommy's family and friends. The GPHS Class of 1967 has lost one of its truly "good guys". Not only was Tommy a cowboy, a great dancer, and a caring father, he was our friend. He had an unforgetable laugh, a way to make each person feel special, and was there for you whether in word or deed. He will be sorely missed.

Rest in peace, my friend, until we meet again.

What are the marks of a man? For Tommy, they were: life changing experiences in the terror of Viet-Nam; the actual cowboy, strong and capable; the care of his parents, there for them in both the good and the difficult; generous with family, even giving a kidney for a sister; always welcoming to family, both those near and the whole string of cousins.

I am glad to have been a cousin and to have known Tommy from the young boy proud to be a Texan to the mature man capable of dealing with anything, even death. Janice and I find it hard to believe that he is gone. He is and will be missed by family, by friends, by us.

We pray God’s compassion and strength on all who mourn his passing.

Tom, a gentle soul with a Big Heart!! Always with a huge smile.... Tom always made me laugh even when I was having bad days. His dedication to BTU and family went far above. He will be truly missed. This really saddens my heart but he is in a better place. My prayers to the family. Know that he is in God's hands.

OUR HEARTS AND PRAYER GO OUT TO TOMMYS FAMILY.THE WORLD HAS LOST A GOOD MAN! WE BOTH HAVE KNOWN TOMMY AND THE BRENT FAMILY SINCE ELEMENTARY SCHOOL ALL THE KIDS WERE WELCOME AT THE BRENT HOUSE! TOMMY WAS ACTUALLY THE BEST MAN AT OUR WEDDING FORTY YEARS AGO! TOMMY WAS A COWBOY, HE SERVERED HIS COUNTRY WITH PRIDE AND MOST OF ALL HE WAS OUR FRIEND! WE WILL MISS TOMMY VERY MUCH!

Tommy was a wonderful cousin and I always had
so much fun with him at our family reunions.
I know he will be missed by all who knew him. I
just thank God for the wonderful memories.

My sincere and heartfelt sympathy is extended to all of Tommy's family. He spoke of his children and grandchildren with so much love and pride. He will be missed and yet always remembered by all of us who knew him. I am praying God will hold you close and ease this time of sorrow, granting peace and comfort as you look out towards tomorrow.
