Obituary

Verlin Schulz Wiesepape, 84, of the Brenham Salem Community, beloved wife, mother,grandmother, and great-grandmother, went home to heaven the morning of March 6, 2005.

The family will receive friends and relatives Wednesday, March 9, from 6:00 to 8:00 PM at Brenham Memorial Chapel. Funeral services will be held Thursday, March 10, 2005, at 10:30 AM at Salem Lutheran Church near Brenham with Rev. Bill Derrick officiating. Interment will follow in Cedar Cemetery near La Grange at 2:30 PM.

Mrs. Wiesepape was born March 26, 1920, in the La Grange Community. She was baptized on October 17, 1920, in Swiss Alp Lutheran Church and confirmed August 13, 1933, at Black Jack Trinity Lutheran Church near La Grange. Before her death, she was a member of Salem Lutheran Church.

She was a homemaker who was faithful to her God and loved her family dearly. She enjoyed dancing and card and domino games with family and friends as well as gardening and tending her African violets. She devoted much of her time to church activities at Eben-Ezer Lutheran, First Christian Church and Salem Lutheran Church.

She is survived by her daughter, Jewel Kay and her husband Paul of Dripping Springs; son, Kenneth Schulz and his wife Linda-Marie of Austin; grandchildren, Steven Schulz and his wife Lissa of Austin, Denise Schulz of Austin, David Schulz and his wife Betsy of Cedar Park; step-grandson, Timothy Kay and his wife Helen of Kyle; great-grandchildren, Emily Schulz, Nathan Schulz; step-great-granddaughter, Cicely Kay; one brother, Elton Jochen and his wife Ruby; sister-in-law, Ruby Kiesling of La Grange; and numerous nieces and nephews and their families. She was preceded in death by her husband Otto H. Wiesepape in 1998, her first husband Arnold A. Schulz in 1962, and her parents Laura Lueders and George Jochen.

The family wishes to thank the doctors who treated her, the kind and loving staff of Gracy Woods I Nursing Center of Austin, who cared for her the last two year, and Odyssey Hospice, who provided comfort in her final days.

Memorials may be given to Alzheimer’s Association or to the church or hospice of your choice.
