Virgene Ruth Wubbenhorst Hardy

Virgene Ruth Hardy passed away Wednesday, August 19, 2009 in Gazebo Terrace Convalescent Center.

Virgene was born December 3, 1933 in Oldenburg, Texas to parents Henry and Amanda Ahlhorn Wubbenhorst. On October 15, 1955 she married Bobby Gene Hardy. She was employed as a sales representative in the printing and stationary business and enjoyed bowling and softball.

Virgene was preceded in death by her husband, Bobby Gene Hardy, on March 25, 2006. Also preceding her were her parents, Henry and Amanda Ahlhorn Wubbenhorst; brother Warren and wife Josephine, two sisters-in-law Norma and Norma Jean Wubbenhorst.

Survivors include brothers and sisters-in-law Lloyd and Ida Mae Wubbenhorst, Ivan and Faye Wubbenhorst all of Brenham; brother-in-law Roy Arnold of New Waverly along with numerous nieces and nephews.

Visitation will be from 6-8 p.m., Friday, August 21 in Brenham Memorial Chapel.

Funeral services will be at 10:00 a.m. Saturday, August 22, 2009 in Salem Lutheran Church of Salem with Pastors Charles Parnell and Lydia Paterson officiating. Burial will follow in Florida Chapel Cemetery in Round Top, TX.

Pallbearers are Josh Kovar, Terry Wubbenhorst, Gary Wubbenhorst, Robert Wubbenhorst, Ryan Wubbenhorst and Ty Norsworthy.

Memorials may be given to Salem Lutheran Church or charity of choice.
