Obituary

Waldine Luetge Brinkmeyer, age 86 and the widow of Raymond Brinkmeyer, Sr., died on July 19, 2020 at Brenham Nursing and Rehabilitation.

In respect for Waldine’s family, please wear masks and social distance for visitation and graveside service. Visitation will be Wednesday, July 22 from 8 a.m. until 7 p.m. at Brenham Memorial Chapel. Family will be present throughout the day to greet family and friends. Graveside services will be held Thursday, July 23 at 9 a.m. at Welcome Lutheran Cemetery. Dress comfortably and bring a chair and umbrella if so desired. Private burial will follow at Prairie Lea Cemetery.

Waldine Brinkmeyer was born July 28, 1933 in the Schoenau Community of Austin County, the daughter of Hilton and Ada Rinn Luetge. She was baptized at Salem Lutheran Church of Welcome and confirmed at Grace Lutheran Church in Houston.

Waldine attended Rockhouse School and graduated from Bellville High School. On July 29, 1951, she was married to Raymond Brinkmeyer, Sr. in Welcome Lutheran Church by Pastor Walter Wolf. They made their home in Houston, where she was employed by a law firm. Later, they moved to Brenham, where she worked for All American Credit Corporation and later for Brenham Credit Corporation, where she was manager for many years. Later, she established her own loan office, WLB Loans. Waldine, her husband and daughter were involved in the business until it was sold.

Waldine enjoyed meeting family and friends at On Deck on Friday nights with the six-pack bunch and others on Saturday afternoons. She also enjoyed visiting her daughter and son-in-law’s on Sundays and drinking wine or beer with son-in-law Charlie. Her hobbies were playing Pitch and going to casinos. She always looked forward to seeing her grandchildren and great granddaughter Laney, all of whom she loved dearly.

Waldine is survived by: daughter and son-in-law, LaTrell and Charles Jankowiak; grandsons Brandon Schovajsa and wife Fallon and Brent Jankowiak; great granddaughter Laney Gail Schovajsa; brother and sister-in-law, Harris and Doris Luetge; sister-in-law, Nora Dell Luetge; brother-in-law and sister-in-law, Charles and Patsy Brinkmeyer; sisters-in-law, LaVerne Blasingame and Hildegard Brinkmeyer; goddaughter Serena Krueger along with numerous nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents, father-in-law and mother-in-law, husband Raymond Brinkmeyer, Sr., son Raymond Brinkmeyer, Jr.; 3 brothers, 2 sisters, 6 brothers-in-law,4 sisters-in-law, 3 nieces, 3 nephews, 2 great nephews and her fur baby Tiger whom she dearly loved.

Pallbearers will be Cody Andrejczak, Mark Andrejczak, Marcus Bender, Ryan Bender, Marcus Nowicki, Marion Rybarski, Jr. and Robert Weiss. Honorary pallbearers will be Brian Bender, Mark Hundemer, Danny Koester, Jr., Robert Richter, Dillin and Dustin Rybarski,
Alvin Schulz, Jr., Todd Steele, Larry Vierus and all her nieces and nephews.

The family would like to thank the staff and nurses at Brenham Nursing and Rehabilitation and the nurses from Amedisys Hospice for their special care given to our loved one.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorials be given to Welcome Lutheran Church or Amedisys Hospice Foundation, 226 S. Live Oak St., Bellville, TX 77418.
