Walter "Pete" Batdorf

Walter “Pete” Batdorf, 78 of Brenham, passed away Monday, January 7, 2008 at Scott and White Hospital in Temple.

Mr. Batdorf was born April 25, 1929 in Brenham to Marion Otto Batdorf and Katie Muehlberger Batdorf and was baptized in the Christian faith. He was a graduate of Brenham High School. On July 30, 1950 he wed Marie Durden in Brenham. Mr. Batdorf owned and operated Batdorf Electric Company from where he retired. He also was a gunsmith. He was a member of Brenham Church of Christ.

His parents, son Darrel and sister Shirlene preceded him in death.

Survivors include his loving family, wife Marie Batdorf of Brenham; son and daughter-in-law Danny and Diana Batdorf of Brenham; grandchildren Jessica Lyn Batdorf, Valerie Ann Batdorf and Allen Walter Batdorf; sisters Elizabeth, Evelyn, Rosalie and Marilyn; along with numerous nieces and nephews.

Funeral services are at 10:00 a.m., Wednesday, January 9, 2008 in Brenham Memorial Chapel with Minister Doug Hall officiating. Burial will follow in Prairie Lea Cemetery.

Pallbearers are Mike Collier, Tom Albus, Ernie Naron, Clamens Tiemann, Jim Bruce, Tom Burrus. Honorary pallbearers are David King, Richard Fletcher, J. D. Young, Frank Richardson, Beal Crane and Anthony Applegate.
