Obituary

Wanda Rose DeLuke, born on January 22, 1927 to Joe and Rosie Pawlawski in Chappel Hill, Texas entered into eternal rest on November 10, 2018.

Visitation with the DeLuke family will be Wednesday, November 14th from 5 p.m. until rosary is recited at 7 p.m. at Brenham Memorial Chapel. Mass of Christian Burial will be held Thursday, November 15th at 10 a.m. at St. Mary’s Catholic Church with Rev. Joseph Kim as celebrant. Interment will follow in Calvary Catholic Cemetery.

She was 91 years young and went peacefully to heaven to be reunited with her husband, Joe DeLuke.

Her two daughters, Shirley Manuel and Diana Dworsky; son-in-law, Tommy; and great niece, Michelle were by her side.

Joe and Wanda were married for 60 years. They lived and raised their daughters in Houston, Texas. They were blessed with six grandchildren, Tom Dworsky and wife Rendi, Mark Dworsky, Suzanne Quain and husband Patrick, Katrina Martin and husband Nate, Cameron Manuel, Blake Manuel and wife Loren. Their great grandchildren are Bailey Bridges, Chase Martin, Will, Colten and Bryce Dworsky, Brooke Dworsky, Wyatt Manuel, JP, Ryan and Kyle Quain.

Wanda was a wife, mother, sister, and friend. Her love of cooking prompted her to host big family dinners and reunions.

She was a hard worker all her life. After retirement, they bought a farm in Latium, Texas where they enjoyed raising cattle, goats and guineas. Wanda also found time for gardening, canning, quilting and fishing.

Joe and Wanda became members of the Top Cat dance club where they made many friends and enjoyed polka dancing.

After selling their farm in Latium, they moved to Brenham, where they continued to enjoy their hobbies and retirement life.

After losing Joe, Wanda enjoyed playing dominoes and pitch with her friends and began traveling with her daughters. Her travels included cruising the Caribbean, the New England Coast and visiting Walt Disney World.

She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, four sisters, four brothers and her son-in-law, Warren Manuel. She was loved and will be missed by her family and friends.

Pallbearers will be: Tom Dworsky, Mark Dworsky, Cameron Manuel, Blake Manuel, Patrick Quain and Shawn Raborn.

In lieu of flowers, donations would be appreciated to the American Cancer Society or the Margaret E. Blizzard Senior Activity Center 1301 E. Tom Green, Brenham, 77833.
