Wilfred Blome

Wilfred Blome, 93, of the Sandy Hill community died Monday, December 5, 2022.

Visitation will be Friday, December 9th from 8 am – 7pm at Brenham Memorial Chapel.

Funeral services will be held Saturday, December 10th at 2:30pm at St. Matthew Lutheran Church of Sandy Hill with Rev. Norman Sulaica, Jr. officiating. Interment will follow in the church cemetery.

Wilfred was born May 29, 1929 in Washington County to Willie and Louis Dierking Blome. He was baptized on May 31, 1929 by Rev. Geo Czerkus and confirmed on April 2, 1944 by Rev. W.C. Poelhmann at St. Matthew Lutheran Church, where he remained a lifelong member. He graduated from Brenham High School. On April 8, 1951, he was married to Gerdine Buenger at St. Matthew Lutheran Church by Rev. A.M. Fielder.

Wilfred was a farmer and rancher, worked at Brenham Produce and Brenham Livestock Auction.

Wilford is preceded in death by his parents; wife, Gerdine Blome; sister Ella B. Kramer and brother-in-law, Harold O. Kramer.

Wilfred had four godchildren, Denny Kramer, Kirby Lampe, Kendall Kramer, Kisha Kramer.

Pallbearers will be his nephews Ray Kramer, Denny Kramer, Paul Kramer; great nephews, Kendall Kramer, Jason Kramer, Jeremy Kramer, Chad Kramer and Daniel Phife.

Memorials may be made to St. Matthew Lutheran Church of Sandy Hill or to Hospice Brazos Valley.
