Bernice (Zeivert) Jozwiak

Bernice Jozwiak, 82 of Brenham, passed away April 8, 2023.

Bernice was born June 29, 1940 in Chappell Hill, Texas to Adam and Nettie (Tomczak) Zievert. She helped her parents on the farm and picked cotton. She rode horse and buggy to school. On September 11, 1959, Bernice was united in marriage to Johnny Jozwiak at Christ the King Catholic Church in Houston. They moved to The Heights in Houston, where she worked for many years at J.C. Penny’s. Later, she cared for children.

She was preceded in death by: parents; husband; siblings, Ed Zievert , Esther Stepanski, and Harry Zievert.

Surviving family includes: son, Dale (wife Tawnya) Jozwiak; daughters, Louise (husband Robert) Bielamowicz, Elaine Dodd; grandchildren, Shelly Dodd, Justin (wife Alissa) Dodd, Brandon Dodd, Kristi (husband Steven) Kirkpatrick, Corbin Jozwiak, Devin Jozwiak; great-grandchildren, Jayden Dodd, Kayden Kirkpatrick, Jaxon Dodd, Maci Dodd; step great-grandchild Cecil Kirkpatrick.

Visitation with family will be Wednesday, April 12th from 5-7 p.m. with rosary recited at 7 p.m. at Brenham Memorial Chapel.

Funeral Mass will be held Thursday, April 13th at 10:30 a.m. at St. Stanislaus Catholic Church with Rev. Thaddeus Tabak officiating. Interment will follow in St. Stanislaus Catholic Cemetery.

Pallbearers will be Corbin Jozwiak, Devin Jozwiak, Robert Bielamowicz,
Steven Kirkpatrick, Cecil Kirkpatrick, Austin Elmore, Brandon Dodd, Kayden Kirkpatrick, Justin Dodd, Jaxson Dodd, Jayden Dodd.
