Bessie Nitzsche

Bessie Nitzsche, 86 of Shelby/Round Top, passed away at her home Saturday, May 15, 2010.

She was born May 23, 1923 in Winnsboro, Texas to Tom and Willie Mae (Wheat) Lawrence. She attended Winnsboro and Mt. Vernon High School. She married Hilton Ray Bustin. He preceded her in death March 31 1955. On June 23, 1967 she married Milton Walter Nitzsche in Houston. He also preceded her in death January 18, 2003. Mrs. Nitzsche was a homemaker, an artist and an avid gardener and quilter. She was a member of West End Baptist Church of Industry and also Greenvine Extension Education Club.

Her loving family includes: son and daughter-in-law, Alan and Connie Austin of Webster; daughters and sons-in-law, Beverly and Michael A. Corte of Round Top, Brenda and Ron Grimes of Georgia and six grandchildren.

Visitation with the Nitzsche family will be from 6-8 pm on Tuesday, May 18, 2010 in Brenham Memorial Chapel.

Funeral services will be held at 11 am on Wednesday, May 19, 2010 in Brenham Memorial Chapel with Rev. Dennis Keen officiating. Interment will follow at Nassau Cemetery in Austin County.

Pallbearers will be her grandsons.
