Obituary

Gernell Jasinski, 78 of Brenham, passed away Thursday, May 5, 2022 in Wharton, Texas.

She was born in Independence, Texas on August 25, 1944 to Raymond and Alma (Niemeyer) Grimm. On August 25, 1962, she was married to Albin Jasinski at Immanuel Lutheran Church of Wiedeville by Rev. Daniel Brown. Gernell worked 25 years at Brentex Mills and then at Sealy Mattress. She enjoyed family gatherings at the river camp house.

She is preceded in death by: parents, husband, sisters Rosa Lee Troy and Helen Konieczny, father-in-law and mother-in-law Steve, Jr. and Lillie Jasinski, brother-in-law Harold Wagner, sister-in-law Peggy Jasinski, niece Vickie Weiss.

Surviving family includes: daughter and son-in-law, Sharon and Ray Nienstedt; son and daughter-in-law, Jimmy and Ida Jasinski; grandchildren, Bradley and Vanessa Nienstedt, Ryan and Katie Nienstedt, Cody and Kylie Nienstedt, Sabra Jasinski, Brianna Jasinski; great-grandchildren, Brooke Nienstedt, Kinslee Nienstedt, Easton Nienstedt, Layla Nienstedt; siblings and spouses, Doris Wagner, James and Carolyn Grimm, Patsy and Wilbert Kalkhake, Carol Ray Krivacka, Judy and Donald Manty, Terry and Clinton Mantey, Debbie and Marvin Roehling; brothers-in-law, George Konieczny, Steve Jasinski, Jr., Billie Jasinski and wife Natalie; numerous nieces and nephews.

Visitation will be Monday, May 9th from 8 a.m. until 7 p.m., with family present from 5- 7 p.m. at Brenham Memorial Chapel.

Funeral services will be held Tuesday, May 10th at 2 p.m. at Brenham Memorial Chapel with Pastor Ken Weiss officiating. Interment will follow at Prairie Lea Cemetery.

Pallbearers will be Sabra and Brianna Jasinski; Bradley, Ryan and Cody Nienstedt; Timmy Mantey; Heath Kalkhake, Russell Roehling.

Memorials are suggested to Alzheimer’s Association.
