Mary Belle (Klatt) Nowicki

Mary Belle Klatt Nowicki, 82 of Brenham passed away Friday, Oct. 22, 2010 at Care Center of Brenham.

Mary Belle was born Dec. 19, 1927 in Brenham to parents Adolph and Archie Belle Krause Klatt. She was baptized, received first communion and confirmed at St. Mary Immaculate Conception Church of Brenham. On June 30, 1951 she was united in marriage to Lawrence J. Nowicki Sr by Rev. Charles Weisnerowski also at St. Mary Immaculate Conception Church. She attended Central School and graduated from Brenham High School.

Mary Belle and her husband Lawrence were owners of Savitall Meat Market and David’s Corner Café. She was also a seamstress for Nat’s Tiny Tots for 12 years. She also had a day care for children. She enjoyed sewing, caring for children and loved to care for her flowers.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Adolph and Archie Belle Klatt; husband, Lawrence J. Nowicki Sr.; brother, George Klatt; and parents-in-law Frank J. and Laura Nowicki; brothers-in-laws and sisters-in-law, Frank and Mae Nowicki, Alfred (Stopper) Nowicki , Melvin Nowicki and Martha Nowicki.

Survivors include sons and daughters-in-law Lawrence T. (Larry) Nowicki Jr and wife Myra and David M Nowicki and wife Helen; six grandchildren, Marcus Nowicki, Crystal Nowicki, Joni Nowicki Leonard and husband Blake, David (Marty) Nowicki II, Dustin Nowicki and wife Heidi, and Dathan Nowicki and wife Jennifer; seven great-grandchildren, Jade McKee, Kaylee Madison Leonard, Kaden Blake Leonard, David (Trey) Nowicki III, Caroline Grace Nowicki, Chasidy LaNae Nowicki and Hannah Jeanette Nowicki; sister-in-law, Doris Klatt; three nieces, Sylvia Scruggs and husband Jerry of Ellisville, Miss., Carolyn Martin and husband Douglas of Angleton, and Lisa Nowicki of Petal, Miss.; two nephews, Thomas Nowicki of Angleton and Terry Nowicki of Brazoria; and numerous great nieces and nephews.

Visitation will be from 5-7 p.m., with a Rosary being recited at 7 p.m. on Monday, Oct. 25, 2010 at Brenham Memorial Chapel.

Funeral mass will be at 10 a.m., Tuesday, Oct. 26 at St. Mary Immaculate Conception Church with Father David Ivy officiating. Burial will follow at Calvary Cemetery.

Pallbearers are her grandchildren: Marcus Nowicki, Crystal Nowicki, Joni Leonard, Marty Nowicki, Dustin Nowicki and Dathan Nowicki. Honorary pallbearers are her great grandchildren and nieces and nephews.

Memorials may be given to St. Mary’s Organ Fund, St. Mary’s Children’s Choir, or Hospice.
