Obituary

Patricia Ann (Brogan) French was born in Erie, Pennsylvania on July 11, 1947 and died June 3, 2022 in College Station, Texas.

Patty attended Strong Vincent High School and was trained in cosmetology. She had her own business as a hairdresser in Erie, Pennsylvania for ten years. She then took a position at Saint Vincent Hospital, initially as a nurse aide and later as a ward clerk entering doctor’s orders on computer. She worked at the hospital for about eight years before relocating to Brenham, Texas. Here, she married Ken French in 1985. She supported his 39 years of service to Blinn College and the Brenham community including teaching inmates about the Bible and singing at nursing homes and assisted living communities. Her faith in Christ was the central focus of her life. She loved animals and hated to see any of them suffer. Her gentle spirit and fierce loyalty were among her most admirable traits. She was an avid reader and prayed faithfully and ardently for her family, her friends, and her country.

She is survived by: husband Kenneth French; nephews Bob Brogan, Tim Mack, niece Penelope Gaston and her daughter Erin Missik of Van Nuys, California; nieces Joan Wilson and Terry Vernon both of Houston, Texas; as well as many family members in Erie, Pennsylvania including Deborah Piotrowski, Marcy Cashman and Cheryl Goetz.

Patty was preceded in death by parents Robert William and Anna Belle (McAdoo) Brogan, adopted sisters Pat Karkosky, Joan L. Sahovey, and Barbara “Babs” Mack all from of Erie, Pennsylvania.

Visitation will begin Tuesday, June 7th at 8 am, with family present at 4 pm and services beginning at 6 pm all at Brenham Memorial Chapel. Guests are invited to stay for a reception at the funeral home immediately after the service.
