Ray Drews, Sr.

Ray Drews Sr., age 75 of Brenham, Texas, passed away on Monday, January 23, 2023 in Tomball, Texas.

Visitation will be Friday, February 3, 2023 from 4pm – 7pm at Brenham Memorial Chapel.

There will be a graveside service at Calvary Catholic Cemetery in Brenham on Saturday, February 4, 2023 at 10 am, with Deacon Al Prescott of St. Mary’s Catholic Church officiating.

Ray Drews Sr. was born in Houston, Texas to Erwin and Ruby Drews on March 13, 1947 at The Heights Hospital. He graduated from Brenham High School in 1965 and then enlisted in the military. He was honorably discharged from the Army National Guard on December 1966. Ray married Irene Kominczak on January 3, 1969. He was a member of the St. Mary’s Church. He spent the majority of his career as a district retail manager and the last few years in transportation. Ray enjoyed spending time with his grandchildren and fishing in his spare time.

Ray is survived by: Irene; his three children, Sandie Cook and significant other Emilio Gonzales, Ray Drews Jr., Scott Drews and wife Jennifer; five grandchildren, Christopher Cook and fiancé Brandy Cook, Kristina Cook, Clarissa Williams and husband J.W. IV, Sierra Drews, Katlyn Aguilar and significant other Pedro Rodriguez; seven great-grandchildren, Skye Lynn, Rylee, LeAnna Grace, Skye’ London, J.W. Williams V and Chyenne Michelle; brother, Willis “Buddy” Drews; and nephew Darrell Drews and Kim.

Honorable pallbearers will be Willis Drews and Ray Drews Jr. Pallbearers will be Scott Drews, Darrell Drews, Jason Kaliszewski, Rocky Kaliszewski, James Cook and Emilio Gonzales Jr.
