Obituary

On February 1, 2023, Ronald Amador passed peacefully at his home in Brenham, TX. He was surrounded in love by his family.

How do you sum up a person in just a few words? Dad was many things to many people. The most important accomplishment in his life was his marriage to mom. His exact words before he died were, “I am most proud of the fact that I have been in-love with the same woman for 60 years.” His thoughts were always to her and us kids. He loved unconditionally. We could always count on him to tell the truth, even when we didn’t want to hear it. He loved each one of his grandchildren and great-grandchildren for who they are as people. Always understanding the character of each as an individual and making sure they all knew how proud he was of them. He encouraged us all to walk in this world with a servant heart and make helping others our goal. One of dad’s great talents was making people feel seen. He touched more lives than we will ever know. As an employee of Home Depot, he treated each customer as if they were the most important person on the planet. He did the same with each staff member while in the hospital. He made us all feel important. He had perfect pitch and was a beautiful charcoal artist. He loved to play a round of golf with his friends and could often be found putting in the backyard on any given afternoon. He was also a man of unwavering faith and set the tone by example. His love for God knew no bounds.

Dad will be greatly missed. His legacy will live on in his children and their children, et al. We will be forever grateful for his presence in our lives.

Ronald Amador is survived by his wife, Shirley; his children, Cindy, Catherine, Barbara, John, Carol, Shelby and Grace; his sister, Barbara Baca of New Mexico; his 18 grandchildren and numerous great-grandchildren. He is preceded in death by his son Ronnie Ray Amador, his brother Robert Amador, and his parents John and Frances Amador.

We ask that any donations placed in his name go to the Hospice Brazos Valley (https://www.hospicebrazosvalley.org/). We ask that everyone remember him by being kind to the next person, allowing his legacy to live on.

Services will be held on Monday, February 13 at St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Brenham, TX. Rosary will be at 9:30 am with mass starting at 10:00 am. Reception will be announced at services.
