Virginia Hobgood

Virginia Elaine Boudreaux Hobgood, 82, of Brenham, passed away peacefully surrounded by loved ones, in her home on June 7, 2022. The Hobgood’s moved to Brenham in 1990 after purchasing the Sears Catalog Store, to create a family business to serve the community. Elaine also known, widely in the community as “Granny” enjoyed her daily interactions with the customers, soon to become her friends. Granny spent all her adult life caring for others, including her children and grandchildren “Little People” made her smile. Elaine was strong and determined with a “Don’t worry, I got it” attitude from her first breath to her last.

Elaine is survived by her daughters Marty Hobgood and Sherri Ramey; daughter-in-law Rose Hobgood; grandchildren Sydne Hobgood, Andrea Kellum, Hannah Hobgood, Dylan Hobgood, and Amber Contreras; brother Jerry Boudreaux and sisters Laverne Boudreaux Shaw and Patsy Prothro. She was preceded in death by her husband Larry Hobgood and sons Michael and Mat Hobgood.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to the Dave Thomas Foundation.

The family will be having a private memorial service for Elaine.
