To the Sommerfield family,

My most sincere condolences to you and yours.

As most of you know, I loved Bernice and Alton as if they were my parents.

Both treated me with the upmost respect and always without hesitation welcomed me into their home.

Boy, how I miss Bernice's chicken fried steak and home made dill pickles.

Alton along with his grandson Jeff (my son) and Junior enjoyed many days together hunting and fishing over the years.

Alton could build or fix just about anything, it was pretty amazing.

Alton loved his vintage Model A Ford and on more than one occasion, I would coax him into cranking it up and take a spin around the block.

A stop at the Sommerfield house always included a tour of Alton's garden. He truly had a green thumb.

I am grateful that I was able to visit with Alton several times recently.

It gave me a chance to tell him again, that I loved him.

He will be missed and I cherish the good times and memories spent with both he and Bernice.

May both your souls rest peacefully in heaven.
