Margie, I am so sorry to hear about Chuck's passing. I didn't know about it until just a few minutes ago, when Jimmy Ivey called me and told me. I sure will be praying for you and your family. I wish I had known so that I could have attended his memorial service. He was always so nice and treated me great. It's a shame that we don't stay in touch, isn't it? It's just such a busy world. I love you very much and like I said, I will be praying for you in the weeks and months ahead.

I had the pleasure of working with Chuck on several committees at Salem Lutheran. He was always willing to take on the tough tasks. I sought his counsel on a number of issues as we debated extending calls to potential clergy. He was a wise man with extraordinary kindness. The best way to describe Chuck was as an honorable 'gentleman.' And he was always so gracious to both Carobeth and I. He will be missed.
