Ben and Beverly:

It was an honor to know and work for Mr. Boettcher. I will always miss the honks and those close to closing time visits to type something up for him. My thoughts and prayers are with you all.

When Tom and I married, and even before that, your parents were the the first friends of the Beards that I met in Brenham. It was the year Ben was Maifest King!
I did so admire them for their devotion to each other and to their church and community. I did not know of your father's military service, but am grateful for it. Their friendship with Jim and Gladys was sweet and long-lived! When I read in the obituary of Ed's devotion to evangelism, I thought .. I wish I had known him better.
Your father was the very definition of "Pillar of the Community." He will be missed by you, your family, and all of us who knew him.
