Ben and Beverly:

It was an honor to know and work for Mr. Boettcher. I will always miss the honks and those close to closing time visits to type something up for him. My thoughts and prayers are with you all.

Dear Beverly, Ben and Family,

On behalf of the EDF Board of Directors and Staff, we send our deepest sympathy and join you in celebrating the life of your father, who was a wonderful example of a true servant leader. Ed was one of the most dedicated leaders our city has been blessed with, and he helped make this the community it is today. Our prayers are with you all.

We will miss Ed's smile as much as we've missed Lucilles since she passed away. Please accept our condolences Beverly and family.

When Tom and I married, and even before that, your parents were the the first friends of the Beards that I met in Brenham. It was the year Ben was Maifest King!
I did so admire them for their devotion to each other and to their church and community. I did not know of your father's military service, but am grateful for it. Their friendship with Jim and Gladys was sweet and long-lived! When I read in the obituary of Ed's devotion to evangelism, I thought .. I wish I had known him better.
Your father was the very definition of "Pillar of the Community." He will be missed by you, your family, and all of us who knew him.
