Carol,
Jane Williams told me about Freddiie passing away. My brother found this obit as we both work for Fry-Gibbs Funeral Home in Paris since retirement. I am so sorry for your loss. I enjoyed visiting with you all a few years ago at the reunion.
Cherish your memories. He seemed to have the sweet personality as his Dad. Take care.

I was saddened to hear of Fred's passing. There is nothing I can say to take the hurt away, but know he was loved and respected by many in the oil and gas industry. He gave of himself unselfishly. Prayers for comfort in this difficult time.

Carol and Family,

I first met Fred at Exxon in 1986. He had already distinguished himself as a gas revenue accounting expert for Exxon. He also became a recognized gas revenue accounting expert in the entire oil and gas industry.

Like others have mentioned, Fred was always a great help to all who worked with him. Fred always knew the answer and his colleagues and managers sought out his opinion on gas revenue accounting.

Fred made me feel like an equal. Although he knew more than anyone else, he didn't act like it.

During this time of loss and sadness, I hope you and your family will find great comfort that only God can give. May God bless each of you.

Sincerely,

Kirk Spencer

Carol, my thoughts and prayers are with you during your time of loss. Freddie was bigger than life here at Exxon. He was such a wealth of knowledge. Each and everyone one of us learned so much from him and we all have such a debt to him for all he taught us over the years. I remember the last time I saw him at the Tom Barnes field day and he heard my voice and spun around to greet me with his big welcoming smile. It warmed my heart then to see him as it does today to have the honor to call him both a work colleague and a friend. I pray that God helps you through this time of sadness, God Bless you and your family.

We will miss you. I have vivid memories of doing Algebra homework over the phone. We had a lot of fun camping at Lake Livingston and Galveston. We will always remember all the awesome concerts we went to because of the great seats Fred had during the Houston Rodeo. So, glad you were a part of my life for over 30 years. RIP, Save me a seat in the clouds.

These four words best describes the man I had the Honor of working for. He taught
me more about Gas Accounting than anyone ever could. He never made me feel
stupid or looked down upon me. I believe these would be the thoughts of everyone
who called or stood in line outside his office door to get help or advice about an
Accounting problem. He had an amazing mind and a memory that astonished
everyone. Terry is right, he had incredible patience! Rodeo Tickets, Exxon Picnics,
COPAS, Lawsuits, Record Storage, Technical Questions, Quarter/Year End close, and
Computer Systems are some of the things Fred excelled at. My fondest memory…
Floating down the river shooting at Turtles with the water guns. At first I didn’t know
how I was going to help him but then it came to me. I would tell him noon or four
o’clock and he would hit the turtles. These are the memories I will cherish when I
think about Fred. Carol you shared Fred with us, and your generosity was amazing. I
can still see you sitting in the office reading books and waiting on Fred during
Quarter or Year End Close. I know you are suffering and the pain is incredible. Losing
your best friend and husband is a terrible loss and I know you miss him. May the
Lord wrap you in his arms and take away some the pain.
