I have missed Jim this school year at Akins. I have been glad that he was with his family in Brenham and resting. I worked with Jim as a fellow Teacher Assistant the last 2 years at Akins. I always enjoyed the opportunity to chat with Jim. I really enjoyed his depth of knowledge on so many subjects and his sense of humor. Jim always made me smile and gave me a good laugh many mornings in the classroom kitchen at Akins. I pray for all of his family and friends for peace at this difficult time. My deepest condolences to each of you. I love this picture of Jim! I never knew him when he looked like this. I met him after he had become ill. He used to tell me that he used to have the nicest, thick hair! You were right Jim. I know you have your nice hair back now and your Heavenly and healthy body! I will see you on the other side Jim and look forward to many more chats with you!

My name is Ron Shelton and I teach in the Austin Independent School District.
In 2005, I met Jim when I was hired as a teaching assistant at Akins High School. After I became a teacher, Jim worked with me in the Social Behavioral Skills (SBS) unit at Akins.
Jim was a great employee and an even greater friend.
God bless Jim, his family, and friends!

I am saddened to hear of Jim's passing. My condolences to all of his many friends and family. I worked with Jim at Akins for many years.
I always appreciated and admired Jim's depth and breadth of knowledge about so many topics, his razor-sharp wit, and his sense of humor, as well as his generosity by always providing an ear, and dispensing his wisdom.
I've missed seeing him at Akins; I'm comforted by the thought of Jim cracking jokes in Heaven, to the delight of the Angels and Heavenly Host.

Jim was always a quiet person observing both humanity and nature. I remember his wonderful sense of humor and kind smile throughout our high school days. May our Heavenly Father be with you as you say good-bye to Jim while holding his memory within your heart!
