Theckla was an inspiration to this pre-teen and teenage girl who grew up in a small country church. You knew during the week Theckla would be working hard to make a living on the family farm, but on Sunday morning she would put her Sunday dress, hose and heels on, and teach our Sunday School class about the love of Jesus.
My sister Patsy and I went to visit her in her home when she was in her nineties, still living alone. We had a good visit, not intending to stay for lunch, but she insisted. The lunch was very good. She still was able to inspire me; her meal prayer came from her heart.

We will be there in spirit where distance can't separate us. Theckla had that spirit of living with her Savior and now in His presence this Christmas. God bless you all who mourn her passing and remember her 101 years of life.
