Obituary

Agnes O’Malley, 89 of Brenham, passed away Monday, May 26, 2008 in Trinity Care Center.

She was born April 8, 1919 in Houston to John and Amelia Schomer. She was a graduate of Houston’s Milby High School. On October 31, 1936, she married Arthur O’Malley in St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Houston. In 1950, the O’Malley’s moved their dairy farm to Brenham. After the death of her husband Arthur on June 7, 1960, Mrs. O’Malley furthered her education at Blinn College. She received her LVN and was employed at St. Jude Hospital, Brenham and later at Methodist Hospital, San Antonio.

She enjoyed traveling and dancing. Most dear to her was family, never missing any of the special events of grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

Mrs. O’Malley was an active member of St. Mary’s Catholic Church of Brenham.

She was preceded in death by: parents, husband Arthur J. O’Malley, son Richard “Dick” O’Malley, grandson Michael O’Malley and great-granddaughter Lindsay Murray.

Her loving family includes: daughter, Mary Ann Eichler and husband Allen of Boerne; son, Dan O’Malley and wife Jo Ann of Katy; daughter-in-law, Marcena O’Malley of Brenham; grandchildren, Richard and Gail O’Malley, Cheri Kay and Edward Addicks, Timothy and Kiersten O’Malley, Kevin and Melanie O’Malley, Stephen O’Malley, Allyson and Wayne Farrimond, David and Kym Eichler, Paul and Kaye Eichler, Gregg and Taylor Eichler, Annette and Bill Paape, Chris Eichler, Kerry O’Malley, Robert and Patti O’Malley, Laura and Kevin McLoughlin, Susan and Jim Murray; 39 great-grandchildren; sisters-in-law and brother-in-law, Ruth Watkins of Bryan, Phyllis O’Malley of Pearland, Pat and Dolores O’Malley of Brenham; numerous nieces and nephews.

Visitation will be at 6 p.m. Wednesday, May 28th with rosary recited at 7 p.m. in Brenham Memorial Chapel.

Funeral mass will be Thursday, May 29th at 10:30 a.m. in St. Mary’s Catholic Church with Father David Ivey as celebrant. Interment will follow in Calvary Catholic Cemetery. Her grandsons will serve as pallbearers.

Memorials may be given to St. Mary’s Parish Council of Catholic Women (PCCW) or your charity of choice.
