I loved Carrie so much, I decided to sign her guestbook twice....my apologies. A silly goy like myself was never supposed to have a Bubbie, but I beat the odds. Carrie Marsh was my great friend, who helped me immensely 4 years ago when times were tough. She treated me like one of her very own. She cracked me up on so many occasions....every time I'd go to her house, she would open the door, jerk her thumb towards the inside, and say, "The coast is clear, get in quick!" If ever there was an example of how to live life well, Carrie was it. I miss her immensely. As I said before, the world is a sorrier place without her in it.

I'm sorry to say I only recently learned that Carrie is gone. It's selfish of me, but I wish I could visit with her now, just one more time. She was a beautiful, beautiful person, and the world is a much poorer place without her in it.

I just learned about your mother and I am so sorry. Our moms were such good friends for so long. I so loved the times I have seen her in the last few years she was always so fun to talk to. My whole life she could always make me laugh. She was such a joy to know and I will miss her.

I am so sorry to hear of the passing of Carrie. What a lovely, caring true lady. I have always treasured my friendship with her and your Dad and the many kindnesses they extended to my Grandparents, Mom and Pop John and to my Mother. It was always comforting all those years that Carrie and Abe were across the street neighbors from our cafe. Words are of little comfort, I know, but memories...all of them...will see you all thru this and sustain you in the years to come.

To France's and family,
I LOVED your mother!! She was our scout leader in high school when no one else would take us! She made going to scouts fun, when being a Girl Scout wasn't popular! She always laughed at my jokes and my Barbra Streisand imitation! She was kind hearted and loving and motherly and a very good listener to all of our high school trials and tribulations! I will always remember her inspirations on how we succeeded in graduating as Girl Scouts. My deepest thoughts and prayers are with France's and her sisters. May God's perpetual light shine on Carrie now and forever more!

I was so blessed to have this lady as my Brownie and Girl Scout leader of Troop 13. She taught us so many things that are part of my life. God has given her those "golden" wings.

Your mother was such an inspiration. I met her years ago through Girl Scouts. I enjoyed listening to her stories about Girl Scouts. I was there when she received her Award from the Girl Scouts. Woman of Distinction award. Remember all the wonderful stories of her. Remember all the good times.

Frances and family...so many childhood memories of this beautiful lady! Whether it be at their store/shop or in the kitchen of her home, her grace and kindness was always there. The last time I saw her I told her that I remembered the liver pate that she made for me and frances as a sleep over snack. I told her it was the best I have ever had. She told me that she would share the recipe. Didn't see her again to get the recipe but I will remember her in so many other ways! She was a jewel. Peace and comfort prayers for your family.

Dear Patricia, Barbara and Frances,

I am so sad to hear about the passing of your wonderful mother. As your house on Tom Green was kitty-corner to ours I got to know your mom and dad and of course all of you. She taught me about fruit fried pies and Chinese food and all things New York. She was a gracious and loving lady. Marsh's Department Store was a wonderful place because of the care of your mom and dad. I have so many wonderful memories as many have already shared about your mom. May you have peace.
