To the Faykus Family,
Elmer Faykus was a wonderful role model and a kind Christian gentleman. He was my principal when I was a child and later hired me to teach on his campus after I student taught there. His leadership was servant leadership and he was always there for all of us when we needed him. The Alton Family, a culture that he created with his leadership and dedication, was a close knit family because he was our rock and our mentor.
His heart, although it gradually became weak physically, was so strong spiritually and emotionally. I know that all of us will miss him, but we praise God that we were able to know him and love him. Our world needs more people like him and those of us who are left behind will pray for his family and his legacy.
God Bless You, Mary Ann and Family!

To the Faykus family,
I had Mr. Faykus as a teacher in the 5th grade in 1963. (His first year in Brenham). He made a huge impression on me. Every now and then I would see him in the grocery store. I figured he didn't remember me, but it was always so good to see him. May your memories bring you great comfort.

Sending many hugs and prayers to the Faykus family. Mr. Faykus was an amazing person. He was my elementary school principal in Brenham. Years later, my daughter attended Sacred Heart Catholic School in La Grange and also had Mr. Faykus as her school principal. He was definitely a Blessing to all those that knew him. May he rest in peace.

Dear Faykus Family,

We are so sorry to hear about the passing of Mr. Faykus. He was a wonderful principal at both Alton and Sacred Heart. I will always cherish those special drives carpooling for 7 years back and forth from Brenham to LaGrange. Thanks for setting an example of what it means to be a Catholic and living the Word of God. Blessings and prayers for all the family. May the Perpetual Light shine upon him.

I was so very sorry to hear the news of Mr. Faykus passing. Mr. Faykus was an amazing principal here at Sacred Heart School. I taught Kindergarten the 17 years he was here. He was kind, fair, supportive, and caring of his faculty/staff and students. I looked to him as a friend, a leader, and a father figure. I respected him and never wanted to disappoint him. I feel so fortunate to have taught on his faculty. He will be greatly missed. My sincere sympathies to all his family. He talked of you all often and with such pride and love.
