Gene was born December 3, 1938, at the family farm. He was the son of the late Johnie & Ann Lee (Meleski) Malinowski. He attended St. Stanislaus Catholic School and graduated from Brenham High School. He proudly served his country in the United States Army and was stationed in Korea.
Upon return from Korea, he moved to Houston after a short career as a Houston Police Officer, he began work as a machinist with TXT-Texteam, where after 38 years of employment, he retired back to Chappell Hill, TX.
Gene married Helen Marie Hensley on May 30, 1964, at Christ the King Catholic Church in Houston, Texas where they began their married life. To this union, they were blessed with 3 sons, Darrell, Brian and Scott. Helen preceded him in death January 8, 1989.
On August 9, 1997, Gene married Brenda Smith at St. Anne’s Catholic Church in Tomball, Texas. After a few years of living in Cypress, they retired to his farm in Chappell Hill, where they lived out their years enjoying the country life.
Gene was a faithful member of St. Stanislaus Catholic Church in Chappell Hill, Texas, where he served on the Cemetery Committee, Money Counting Team, and supporter/worker of the Annual Parish Bazaar.

He was also preceded in death by: stepdaughter Cindy Smith, brother in law and sister in law, Jim & Barbara Green, Wilburn & Laura Hensley and Fran Hensley.
Gene was a simple, faith filled man who loved his family. He devoted his life to his family and friends and lived as a true example of a Christian father, husband, brother uncle and friend. He was there to lend a hand or advice to whomever may need it. He was very active, working all his life from growing up on a cotton farm picking cotton, working as machinist to provide for his family or helping his son’s, brother’s, sister, nephew, nieces or friends or strangers when needed. He had a very quiet disposition, but a great sense of humor and enjoyed pulling a practical joke on someone. His quiet smile will be missed by all that loved him.
Rosary will be held at 7 pm at Brenham Memorial Chapel on Monday, March 14, 2022, with visitation beginning at 5:30. On Tuesday, March 15, 2022, a Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11am at St. Stanislaus Catholic Church in Chappell Hill, Texas with burial at St. Stanislaus Catholic Cemetery, in the Derkowski section, in Chappell Hill, Texas.
