Obituary

Eugene Paul “Ponch” Meschewitz, age 68, went to be with the Lord on Thursday, March 14, 2019.

Visitation from 4:00 to 6:00 p.m. and Rosary at 6:00 p.m., Sunday, March 17 will be held at Brenham Memorial Chapel.

Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 2:00 p.m., Monday, March 18, in St. Mary’s Catholic Church with Fr. Ernesto Elizondo, Celebrant.

Born September 16, 1950 in Brenham, Ponch was baptized May 1, 1964 at St. Mary’s Catholic Church of Brenham and where he continued to be a life-long member. He attended Washington County Schools. Always wanting to become a priest, he was a mass server from ages 17-59. His hobbies were cooking, gardening and fishing. Employment took him into the home construction business doing sheet rock/drywall and in janitorial work at Blinn College.

Relative survivors include: Aunt Josephine Ligues; Uncle Lawrence Meschewitz; along with many cousins and pet dog “Sweetie Pie”.

His mother Janie Meschewitz, grandparents John and Ella Meschewitz, six aunts, one uncle and one godson preceded him in death.

Memorials so desired may be given to St. Mary’s Catholic Church.
