You have my deepest condolences, and prayers for strength during this very difficult time. Janet has been telling me about Gary’s illness; you’re whole family has been in my church’s prayers for the past month. Please let me know if there is anything I can do.

The Soares family grieves the loss of their son-in-law, brother-in-law, and uncle. Gary was an important part in our lives—charming, generous, one of our most talented, and definitely the most handsome! Over the years, wereveled over his exquisite portrayals in his performances in Manhattan as well as Brenham. (As artists, themselves,Janet and Arch shared Gary’s love, dedication, and understanding of life in the performing arts). All of us will cherish the memory of a wealth of family gatherings on many occasions—his and Sabrina’s country wedding, the births of their children, summer outings and Christmas holidays, as well as many wonderfully intimate and fun-loving evenings in Brenham, Hastings, Martha’s Vineyard, and Lyme. (How he loved New England seafoods!) How lucky we felt when Sabrina found her love-match (although she probably wouldn’t have dated him at first had she known he was an actor by trade!). But what a wonderful family she joined when she became a Roberts! Here’s to Gary— how we will miss him.
