Dear Dede and family,

Steve's and my thoughts and prayers are with you as you say goodbye to George. I have such fond memories of his gracious presence in our family all these years. God Bless and love to all of you. Love, Ellen & Steve

Dearest Dede and all the family,
My heart is with you all as you say your final good byes to your dearly loved George. I remember him as so very kind and friendly and always thought very highly of him.

May the Lord bring gentle reminders of where George is now and keep you in remembrance that you will see him again. And may the Lord keep your aching hearts enclosed within His loving hands.

All my love always to each of you,
Sissy

This wonderful man saved my life back in 1969 when cancer was discovered in my breast. I had a full and complete recovery. The surgery he performed left me healthy and a survivor. We are forever grateful. I often wondered if he got to be a "beachcomber" in Galveston. God bless him.

Dear Dede,
My heart broke when I heard about the loss of Dr. George. His life and friendship are deeply woven within the fabric of the Chidsey and Hays family. I remember how he lovingly nicknamed me "Hickory" as a little girl and always welcomed my adolescent opinions and ideas in his visits with my grandmother. He was a true gentleman and devoted friend.
Right before I sat down to send this message, I stopped to look at his favorite perch on the couch in the house he used to visit so often. He loved how the sun shined a certain way through the stained glass as a friendly visit was coming to an end. I can only imagine the wonderful reunion between the Chidsey's and Dr. George right now...lots of St. Johns memories and sailing stories I'm sure!
My childhood was blessed with brilliant, intriguing, and delightful adults. He was the cream of the crop, and I am so grateful!

With Love,
Kimberly Lake Hays

I did not know Dr. Broyles, however I did know a lovely young lady named Jane Broyles that I worked with at First City Nat'l Bank here in Houston. Lost contact with her and wondered if this could possibly be my long lost friend now married to Dr. Smith. I do extend to the family my deepest sympathy in the loss of Dr. Broyles. Should this lady be my long lost friend, I would ask that she contact me.

Sincerely yours,
June Bates

Dede and family, just wanted to say how sad we were to hear about Dr. George, a very special person to the Chidsey and Hays family. He was wonderful to my parents and an icon to all that knew him at St. John's. We will greatly miss him eventhough we did not get to see each other these last few years. He will always have a dear and special place in our hearts now and in the future. Our girls remember the "yellow mustang."
