Obituary

Gladys Bertha Tockhorn Ordner, 86, passed away at Kruse Village Saturday afternoon, November 21, 2020. She was born August 23, 1934 in Brenham, Texas to Charlie and Nora Grassmuck Tockhorn. She was baptized at Salem Lutheran Church and confirmed April 10, 1949 in St. Paul's Evangelical Lutheran Church of Brenham. Gladys graduated from Brenham High School in May of 1952 at the age of 17. On January 21, 1961 she married Wesley Ordner, in Trinity Lutheran Church of Frelsburg. She was a homemaker and later was employed at Sealy Mattress, Kerrville Bus Company, and Blinn College up until March of 2020 when COVID 19 hit. She was a member of Zion Lutheran Church. Gladys loved her all family very much, especially her grandsons. She also enjoyed her land and cattle. She loved to travel with Wesley. She also loved her grand pups Lacy, Mollie, Aggie, Daisy, Macy, and Murphy.

She is survived by her son, Charles Ordner and his wife Aimee of Frelsburg; grandsons, Chris Ordner and wife Brittany of Leander and Bobby Ordner of Cottonwood, Arizonia; niece, Francis LeGrand and husband Rick, nephews, Jerry Ordner and wife Carla, Bill Ordner and wife Tamara, and great niece, Caroline Ordner, great nephews, Carlyle Ordner and wife Jackie, Eric Ordner and wife Christy, Colin Ordner, and Ethan Ordner and wife Chrissy; and special friends, Ben and Nancy Matula of Brookshire.

She was preceded in death by her husband Wesley, parents, father-in-law and mother-in-law, Emil and Alma Ordner.

Visitation will be Monday, November 23 from noon until 7 p.m. and Tuesday, November 24 from 7 a.m. until the funeral service begins Tuesday at 2 p.m. at Brenham Memorial Chapel. Pastor Pat Dietrich will officiate. Burial will follow in Prairie Lea Cemetery.

Pallbearers will be Bill Ordner, Eric Ordner, Colin Ordner, Bubba Toman, Don Studhalter, Lloyd Neutzler, Ronnie Neutzler, and Jimmie Dreyer.

Honorary pallbearers include friends and employees of K&M, employees of Blinn College food service, and all past and present employees of Sealy Mattress.

Gladys’ family would like to thank Hospice Brazos Valley for their special care.

In lieu of flowers and food, memorials may be given to the Zion Lutheran Church of Zionsville.
