I was extremely sad to hear about Lefty's passing. My friendship with him goes back to our days with Gulf Oil in Port Arthur. He was one of the kindest people that I have ever known. Over the years, we have constantly stayed in touch talking about such things as our days at Gulf, Texas Tech University, the Houston Astros, our hometowns, our families, and Texas history. I will miss my fellow college alumni, my co-worker, my fellow sports fanatic, but, most of all, I will miss my dear friend. My condolences to LuAn and her family. I will keep you all in my prayers.

I was so sorry to hear about Lefty’s passing. He was a delightful man ... full of spirit and gift of great care. I met Lefty a few years ago at the Brenham Junior High School QUAIL DAY. He and his wife were so wonderful to volunteer to work with the young people of Brenham. His sweet smile and hearty laugh will be greatly missed. Rest In Peace ??

Heaven is a richer place but we are poorer with the passing of "Lefty". Such a kind, helpful, generous and involved man. It was a pleasure to be with him on many Master Naturalist events! Condolences to LuAn and family!
Eternal Rest grant unto him O Lord, and let Light Perpetual shine upon him.

My love and condolences to LuAnn and the Yarnold family. Lefty was a kind and wonderful man who helped our Texas Master Naturalist Gideon Lincecum Chapter become a success. He loved to help with the school children in our district.

I met Lefty and LuAn just two years ago just before graduating the Texas Master Naturalist class of 2018. I have had the wonderful opportunity to work with them both on several youth education events through TMN-GLC. Lefty was a kind and gentle soul who loved teaching kids about all things outdoors.
May God’s loving grace provide peace and comfort to LuAn and the Yarnold family.
