Obituary

Herbert “Herb” Hardan, 66, passed away on September 4, 2021. Herb was born on May 21, 1955 in Brenham, Texas to Herbert and Louise (Niemeyer) Hardan.

Herb was a hard worker and spent 46 years with Woodson Lumber before retiring earlier this year. Herb was a kind, sweet man who is best described as being quiet as a church mouse but having a huge impact on the people around him, so I guess you could say he was larger than life and will be remembered as such. Herb found simple joys in life but his biggest joy would be his granddaughter, Paisley who he always had the biggest smiles and love for her. Herb was very active in Zion Lutheran Church and he will be greatly missed by many there as well.

Herb is preceded in death by his parents, his brothers; Howard and Daniel Hardan, his sisters; Sue McMahon and Caroline Von Minden and brother in law; O.D. Von Minden. He is survived by his son; Jonathon Hardan and daughter in law; Katelynn, granddaughter; Paisley, brother; Roy Hardan and his wife Bobbi, brother in law; Paul McMahon, his former spouse and mother to Jonathon; Pam Rosas and numerous nieces and nephews.

A visitation for Herb will be held on Thursday, September 9, 2021 from 11 am to 7 pm with the family present from 4 pm to 7pm at Brenham Memorial Chapel. The funeral service will be held on Friday, September 10, 2021 at 10 am at Zion Lutheran Church located at 1800 FM 2679, Brenham, Texas. The burial will follow in the Zion Lutheran Church Cemetery.

Serving as pallbearers will be : Craig Blum, Marvin Spreen, Victor Fojtik, Josh Tysar, Anthony Blazek and Austin Grimm. Honorary pallbearers will be Herb’s nephews and the past and present employees of Woodson Lumber.

Memorials can be donated to Zion Lutheran Church, 1800 FM 2679, Brenham, Texas 77833.
