Obituary

Wayne Arnold, age 80, passed into the waiting arms of Jesus our Lord on September 8, 2018 surrounded by his loving family. Wayne was born September 3, 1938 in Gilmer, Texas.

Wayne and Wanda Nell Williams met on a blind date in 1958 and were married on June 27, 1960 in Beaumont, Texas. Early years were spent on numerous jobs and locations around the state. Wayne’s machinist career started at Continental Carbon Paper Mfg. Co in Houston, Texas and concluded after 30 years’ service in Brenham, Texas at R&R Donnelley. He was the top machinist operator for many years before retirement. His hobbies included woodworking, auto mechanics, fishing and numerous other activities… if you have a wood carving of your name on your work desk or home it was his delight to surprise you with his handy-work.

Wayne gave his life to Christ in 1976 and was baptized in Lake Somerville. He and Wanda attended the Brenham Church of Christ and Champion Fellowship for many years.

In addition to his wife Wanda of 58 years, Wayne is survived by his daughter Dana Renee and Shep Barnett of Weatherford, son Keith Wayne and Penny Pepper Arnold of Dallas, four grandchildren. Jenna Vitek and Ryan of Weatherford, Krista Broom and David of Keller, Lori Arnold Bradley and Justin of Haslet, and Brian Arnold of Boise, Idaho, Four great-grandchildren, Canaan McCall, Max Broom, Gracie and Aubrey Vitek, and one sister, Geneva Tucker of Tyler, Texas and numerous nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents Robert Jack and Ella Simmons Arnold, sisters, Marie Fawvor, Pat Harrison, and brother Bob Arnold, nephews Mark Emerson and Allen Ray Arnold.

Funeral services will be at Champion Fellowship Church on Tuesday, September 11, 2018 with visitation at 10 a.m. and services to follow at 11a.m. with Pastor Allen McClure, Pastor Tim Webb, and Minister Dr. Doug Hall will officiate. A private burial will follow in Prairie Lea Cemetery.

Serving as Pallbearers are Keith Arnold, Brian Arnold, Shep Barnett, Ryan Vitek, David Broom and Justin Bradley.
Honorary Pallbearers will be Jack Littlejohn, Allen Michalak, JD Young and Richard Fletcher.
