Jeff Ehlert

My deepest condolences to Jeff's family and friends. I had the pleasure of being a friend of Jeff when he last lived in Austin. A truly big hearted soul who loved life, cherished friends, and spread his incredible sense of humor generously. It was always a pleasure to be in his company. I am honored and blessed to have shared his friendship. He will be missed.

Dear Mrs. Ehlert, Melvin, Scott and family, I was so sad when I heard of Jeff's passing. I always enjoyed being around him and sharing stories with him. He was a kind soul and a great friend to everyone he met. You have my sincere condolences.

Jeff’s story the past 18 months is a tragic one, painful and unfair. I’m thankful I got to visit with him a few times over the past year. I will treasure our visit right before Christmas and use his witness to me through that conversation as preparation for my own eventual death and journey to meet my Heavenly Father. Jeff was at peace and ready for the transition to his heavenly home. What an inspiration! My prayer is family and friends find that same peace that he had leading up to his final days.

I wish I could be there to celebrate his life today with you all but had plans to be out of town. Gloria, Melvin, Scott and all family members, May God give you peace this day and the weeks and months ahead.

Thinking of all of you as you praise God for Jeff's life. Both my boys remember him and all the fun they had during their days of youth activities at St. Paul's. We are so happy that Jeff was a mentor for so many. Unable to be with you tonight or tomorrow, but our thoughts and prayers are with you. May your memories bring you joy and your faith give you comfort and peace!

To the Ehlert family, I am so very sorry about the loss of Jeff. I have only the fondest memories of him. He was an exceptional man who made a lasting impact on those who knew him. You have my deepest sympathy and my prayers are with you during this difficult time and the days ahead.

Jeff had a formative impact on my life through his involvement with the youth ministry at St. Paul's. I will always carry his presence as a great mentor and friend, and try to emulate his example with those I mentor along my path.

I am so sorry to hear about Jeff's passing. Always enjoyed the opportunities I had to be around him. His name has been added to the roll and will be called at the Texas A & M Muster ceremony in April. It will be my honor to hold a candle for him.
