John Elford

On Tuesday January 25, 2022, John William Elford, passed away unexpectedly at his home in Brenham, Texas at the age of 69. John was born on November 23, 1952 in Indianapolis, Indiana to William T and Mary Lee Elford and was the second of their six children. He spent the majority of his youth and adult life in Houston,TX. He graduated from Strake Jesuit High School in 1969 and attended the University of Texas and the University of Houston where he studied Political Science. He made a career in contracting, consulting and construction.

His creative imagination helped him to build and collaborate on a number of inspiring projects in the real estate and restaurant arenas in and around the Houston area. The friends and connections he made endured. His lifelong love of music finally led him to Brenham, Texas where he transformed an abandoned historic laundry into a world class live music venue, the 4 star Concert Hall. He had big plans to continue expanding this venture and offer his warmth and hospitality to even more people in the Greater Brenham and Hill Country areas.

John is survived by his two daughters from his marriage to Olga T Antonetti, Emily Antonetti-Elford and Megan Antonetti-Elford. John’s daughter Megan and her husband, Adam Thomas Schwitters, are parents of John’s only grandchild, Maxwell Francis Schwitters, who knew him as Grandpa. He is also survived by his siblings Elizabeth Elford, Robert Elford Sr. and his wife Gwen, and James Elford and his wife Paula, as well as a number of nieces and nephews whom he adored - Lauren Adame, Michael Elford, Courtney Elford, Robert Elford Jr., Grant Elford, Sam Elford, and Blake Elford. John was preceded in death by his father, William Timothy, and his mother, Mary Lee, as well as his two brothers, Thomas Daniel Elford and Timothy Michael Elford.

A memorial reception in his honor will be held at the 4 Star Concert Hall on Saturday the Fifth day of February, 2022 from 1 pm to 5 pm.
