Obituary

Lloyd William Wubbenhorst, 88 of Brenham, passed away Saturday, December 2, 2017.

Visitation will be Tuesday, December 5th from 6-8 p.m. at Brenham Memorial Chapel.
Funeral services will be Wednesday, December 6th at 10 a.m. at Salem Lutheran Church with Rev. Charles Parnell officiating. Interment will follow in Florida Chapel Cemetery.

He was born February 12, 1929 in Oldenburg, Texas to Henry and Amanda (Ahlhorn) Wubbenhorst. He was baptized in May 1929 and confirmed September 6, 1942 by Rev. Julius Bosshard at St. John Lutheran Church, Warrenton, Texas. Lloyd was a 1946 graduate of Fayetteville High School. He worked on the family farm and also was employed by RC Cola in LaGrange, Texas. On February 24, 1952, he married Norma Rohde. They made their home in Houston, where he was employed by Kroger for 35 years. He owned and operated Pinky’s restaurant in Industry 1978-1984. Lloyd worked at Brenham Wholesale and from there retired. His wife Norma preceded him in death December 12, 1989. Lloyd married Ida Mae (Kramer) Henske January 9, 1991.

He cherished time hunting and fishing with family. He enjoyed friends in dance clubs and listening to polka music.

He was preceded in death by: parents; first wife, Norma; brothers and sisters-in-law, Warren (Josephine) Wubbenhorst, Ivan (Norma Jean) Wubbenhorst; sister and brother-in-law, Virgene (Bobby) Hardy; numerous brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law.

Loving family includes: wife, Ida Mae Wubbenhorst of Brenham; sons and daughters-in-law, Roger (Patricia) Wubbenhorst of Dime Box, Gary (Frances) Wubbenhorst of Jersey Village, Robert Wubbenhorst of Brenham; grandchildren, Ryan (Brittney) Wubbenhorst, Donica (Fabio) Subieta, Lisa Wubbenhorst, Dr. Terra Wubbenhorst (Sean Hardesty, PHD); step-children, Paulette Singleton, Larry (Susan) Henske, Janie (Dick) DeGuerin; ; great-grandchildren, Anthony and Lucas Subieta, Parker and Ryder Wubbenhorst, Adelaide, Emmett and Hilda Hardesty; sisters-in-law, Ouida Rohde and Alice Faye Wubbenhorst.
