Lloyd was a genuine man who enjoyed life. As a kid I would go to the Wubbenhorst house in the Houston Heights with my family and it was always a comfortable and fun time. I remember thinking how big a man Lloyd was standing next to my father.

As I grew older, I realized Lloyd also had a big heart. He spent many hours with my parents and was always interested in their well-being.

Lloyd also made good wine which he was proud to share.

Most of all I remember Lloyd as a strong man who took the time to have meaningful conversations. He was genuinely interested in family and nurtured that bond. What a blessing to attend his 88th birthday party.

And so grateful he got to see the Astros win it all for there was no bigger or more knowledgeable fan.

God bless

My sympathies to the Wubbenhorst family. I am sorry to hear of Lloyd's passing. I always enjoyed talking with Lloyd as he always had something interesting and funny to say. As a child I remember going to visit Lloyd, Norma and kids and I always had a real good time there.
I will always appreciate how good Lloyd and Ida Mae were to my parents, especially in their later years. My Dad and Lloyd were cousins but were also good friends. I am so glad I was able to attend and spend some time with Lloyd at his 88th birthday party earlier in the year.
To Ida Mae, Roger, Gary and Robert, my thoughts and prayers are with you and your family. Lloyd was a good man. He will be missed.

My condolences to the family in this difficult moments. Please remember that God can comfort us. So draw close to God in prayer so He can draw close to you to comfort you and to give you that peace of God that surpasses all understanding (James 4:8; Philippians 4:6;7).

My parents were neighbors of Lloyd and Norma and then Lloyd and Ida Mae. They always enjoyed getting together to play dominoes or cards. After my dad passed away, Lloyd always checked to make sure my mom was okay. He and Ida Mae always took her with them to go out to eat or just for a ride. He would even call to see how my mom was when she was visiting me. He was a good man and will be missed. My sincere sympathy to the family.

I always thought of Lloyd as "Uncle" Lloyd. He was my Dad's 1st cousin and I grew up knowing he and Norma and always enjoyed visiting with them. Great family reunion memories through the years with he and Ida Mae. I always got a kick out of watching the men play dominoes at the reunions! You will be greatly missed.
Condolences to the family and our prayers are with you.

I have been in and out of Lloyd's life since I was born. He and Norma were good friends to my parents, and Lloyd worked with my dad, Bill Machacek, for many years at Heinke-Pilot (now Kroger). As a child, I loved going to see the Wubbenhorst family! As a grown up adult, I've come to know him and Ida Mae well. Dating Robert for many years now, I was always reminded how much he loved his family, and how that would remind me of my dad. Lloyd never quit worrying about his children, confirmed by all those calls Robert would get on Sunday afternoons about being careful on the road back home! I will miss him!
