Martin and I grew up together. We attended Lordstown Local School and we were good friends. He always delivered my parents newspaper and we would stand by the mailbox and talk. In the winter his bike tires would freeze and I would help him thaw them. We were the same age and our families had grown up together.

I am sure he was a loving, caring husband and parent. He was always a kind and sweet person. He will be missed. May God give you comfort and rest easy knowing he is in a good place.

Dearest family, I first met Marty when he worked with Glen Givens on Fannin Unit at BSS. He was always passionate about care, and deeply loved the folks whose lives he worked tirelessly to protect. I came to call him a friend. I remember his joy when he rode his Triumph motorcycle to work. He was a good man and a truly loving person. Well done faithful servant, well done. Peace, Rick Carroll

On behalf of Dad & I, our thoughts are with you all. Dad mentioned what a great help Marty had been during those years and he thought the world of him.

My sincere condolences to Johanna and children Annie and Jacob. I remember Marty as fellow worker who always stated his opinion. You must admire that in a person as you knew where he stands. Marty was that kind of a person.

Johanna, Jake and Annie,
I am sorry for your loss. I worked for Marty in 1983 at BSSLC where I met Johanna. I will never forget how happy they were when they found out about Jake and Annie! Such proud parents. Every time I saw Marty he bragged on his children. I have so many great memories. Marty sure loved his family. My thoughts and prayers are with you all.
