MJ was a good friend and colleague during my first 10 years at EPR/URC. I enjoyed his tales about Texas, seismic crews and especially his family. He was the 'go to guy' in the section for most questions about IT, mechanical devices, or other 'life important questions'. I'll miss him.
Sincerely,
Dave Olgaard

So very sorry to hear the sad news of MJ’s passing. Heartfelt condolences to Debbie and the girls. I had the singular privilege of working closely with MJ in the Rock Mechanics Lab at Exxonmobil for almost 15 years until the occasion of his retirement. A great gentleman - I benefited immensely from his knowledge and friendship and will miss him terribly.

I'm sorry to hear this news. MJ was a such great guy to work with while I was at ExxonMobil starting back in 2003. He taught me a great deal about many things, from experimental geomechanics to caring for my lawn. I have a thriving ginger plant that he gave me about 15 years ago. He made many of my days much brighter.

MJ and I were very good friends in high school. After HS we went our separate ways and I frequently wondered where he was and what he was doing. After I returned from military duty, was married, moved to Houston and then spent most of my life in Phoenix, Az, I made several attempts to track him down but was not successful. I remember MJ's love of music and for things that many others had no interest in, always very inquisitive. I offer my condolences to MJ's family.
