So very sorry to hear of the passing of Buddy.
My husband and I rented a home on the property of Skipper and Betty while my husband was stationed at Ft. Campbell, Ky. I worked at American Old Line Life Ins. Co. where Skipper was Vice President. Buddy was just a young boy, 15 years old.
What a wonderful meaningful life he led!!

I met Buddy at the Citation celebration. I am the man talking to him on the steps of his kitchen in the memorial video shown at the Believers conference. Buddy and I talked about partnership with Convoy of Hope whom I work for for as a disaster responder. I am honored to have met him and hope that we still can partner in the future.
Like many others Buddy and I became my friends because of his wonderful heart for people. May God bless his family and I look forward to seeing him again.
God bless you all!! Jesus is Lord!

To Wanda and the rest of the Shipp family, I am so sorry for your loss. I was shocked and saddened when i text Buddy "Happy Father's Day" and was text a response by Wanda that Buddy had passed away. I met Buddy in 2006 when Hurrincane Rita had destroyed a large part of our area. i was in charge of feeding all of the Law Enforcement and first responders in our area. We had no plans to accomadate for this type of disaster. While we were in shock and trying to take care of our own.....here comes Buddy Shipp with his pick up truck and trailers and BBQ pits. We formed an instant bond and remained friends through two more huricanes and feedings of first responders. Buddy was an amazing christian man. I looked up to him not only as a friend but as man and a father and a husband. Buddy always smiled when he spoke of Wanda and his children and family. Buddy did things from the heart and was always prepared to take care of others before he took care of himself. It was an honor and a priveledge for me to call you a friend. You helped me through some of the toughest moments in my life. My son who is 6 years old now still asks about "Mr. Buddy and his BBQ trailers." Rest in peace my friend. And to his family i know that you already know this but Buddy Shipp was the mold for what a true christian man was made out of. Buddy helped so many people that he barely even knew. If I can be half the man that Buddy Shipp was i will be happy. I'm sorry you had to leave us Buddy but I know that we will see each other again when it is time. Until we cook together again my friend..........

Thanks for your meals to US Customs and Border Protection officers during Hurricane Katrina in Hammond, Louisiana. His meals were a bright spot in often a very tiring and depressing day. His present made a different to many people and I know he will be missed by many.

My condolences to the entire family. I had the extreme pleasure of hearing Buddy preach at Sandy Creek as a teen. He always had a smile on his face. He and my PawPaw Leland are probably giving each other a hard time as I write. Buddy and Wanda had a love that bore mimicing. We love you all.

I had the great pleasure of meeting Mr. Shipp while deployed to New Orleans after Hurricane Katrina. Mr. Shipp always had a nice hot meal ready for us after a long hot day in the sun. He was always the first to rise and last to finish up at night. I had the great pleasure of helping to prepare and serve a meal with Mr. Shipp on one occassion and to hear of his many travels. He truly was the kindest, most unselfish Man that I've ever had the pleasure to meet. The Heavans have truly gained an Angel in Buddy.

Buddy, we will miss you coming by for the firewood for those long-distance, people-in-need, barbecues you were so famous for...Wayne knew where to find the wood, and you knew where to find the needy...what a pair you made.
We can't replace you, ever, but we thank you for coming our way. You always made a difference.
Wanda and family, we will pray for your comfort and healing.
