Robert Lenz

Robert Lenz, 93 of Brenham, passed away Friday March 26, 2004 in Gazebo Terrace.

Robert was born in Whitehall, Texas on February 1, 1911 to Christopher Fredrick and Louisa "Lizzie" (Hoefelmeyer) Lenz. He was baptized and confirmed in Salem Lutheran Church of Whitehall. On October 24, 1940 he married Rosie Beth Klussmann in Bethlehem Lutheran Church of William Penn. He was employed by Brentex Mills for over 25 years. Mr. Lenz was an avid gardener. He particularly enjoyed tending his tomatoes.

He is survived by two sons Robert Edward Lenz and wife Dottie of Marshall, TX; and Donald Lenz and wife Linda of Aledo, TX; grandchildren Kay Lenz of Dallas, Robert Michael Lenz and wife Dee of Marshall and Kellie Lawson and husband Kevin of Dallas; great grandson Logan Blade Lenz; sister Ruby Williamson of Madisonville, sisters-in-law Louise Klussmann and Lydia Mertens; brother-in-law and sister-in-law Herbert and Meta Mutscher all of Brenham; and numerous nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents, wife Rosie Lenz; brother Herbert Lenz; sisters Ella Hemann, Alice Eberhart, and Annie Rayburn.

Visitation with the Lenz family will be Sunday March 28, 2004 from 6:00 - 8:00 p.m. in Brenham Memorial Chapel.

Funeral services will be held Monday March 29, 2004 at 10:00 a.m. in Grace Lutheran Church with Pastors Matthew Jacobs and William Holzer as clergy. Burial will follow in Prairie Lea Cemetery.

Pallbearears include Carl Mertens, Lester Mertens, Kenneth Mutscher, Gus Mutscher, Willie Kankel and Dick Cannon

Memorials may be given to Grace Lutheran Church.
