Tommy Lee Burnett, 82, of Washington, TX passed away Monday, February 18, 2013 in Houston, TX.
Tommy was born August 3, 1930 in Fairfax, OK to parents Winnie (Chaney) and Jerry Burnett. On January 26, 1957 he married Billie Neel in Freeport, TX. He served his country in the U.S. Army during the Korean War. After retiring from 35 years at Shell Chemical he moved to the country enjoying the outdoors, preparing his Sunday school lessons and spending time with family. He was a member of First Baptist Church in Navasota.
Survivors include wife Billie of Washington; daughters Julie Payne and husband Marty, Patti Collins, Sally Shoemaker and husband Charles all of Pasadena; grandchildren Jodi Votion, Jason Butler, Jeremiah Payne, Rachel Shoemaker, Rachael Payne, Michael Shoemaker, Ben Payne, John Shoemaker, Rebecca Shoemaker, Sam Payne and Emily Shoemaker; great-grandchildren Rylen Votion and Baylee Votion; brothers Freddy and wife Georgene of Galena Park and Gary and wife Judy of Meadows Place; also numerous nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be from 6-8pm, Wednesday, February 20, 2013 at Brenham Memorial Chapel. Funeral service will be 11am, Thursday, February 21 at First Baptist Church in Navasota with Bro.Clyde Larrabee, Dr. J. Denny Autrey, Bro. Charles Gibson and Bro. Ed Etheridge officiating. Interment will be 4pm at Guiceland Cemetery in Grapeland, TX.
Serving as Pallbearers will be Tommy’s grandsons, Honorary pallbearers will be Tommy’s prayer group, and Sunday School Class.
