Dear Sally & family:
We were shocked to hear of Jay's death. He was always a great help in the dealings with the Johnston Family and Charles Machemehl. He always greeted me with a smile and had a wise remark. Our prayers are with you and the family in this time of grief. Lyle & Gertie Carbaugh

Dear Sally, Buddy and I are saddened to hear of your loss. We know Jay was a wonderful husband, father, son, and friend to many. He was truly a servant, by reading the article. We are sorry we can't be there today. May the Lord bless you and your family with peace during this difficult time. Fondly, Pat Johnson

We cannot begin to phathom your loss, because we feel it in a way that cannot be explained. Our best tribute to Jay was through our tears last night, we found ourselves smiling and then lauging when we were remembering our times with you and Jay. What wonderful memories. Our TCU games, road trips & bowl games can never be the same. Jay was the entertainment, as well as the one who got to know the "enemies" and make them friends. The OU game in Norman was a great example of how Jay would always win over a crowd and they would end up loving him and and wanting him to stay around and be a part of their party. He was the best, period. We have been blessed to have had Jay as a part of our lives.
Sally, you know how we feel about you and your family. We love the time we got to spend with you and Jay and just like everyone who knows Jay, we were not ready to let him go.
Your friendship means everything to us.

Dear Jones Family,
We were so saddened by the news of the loss of your father and husband. I am certain that despite the consolation of your family and friends, your loss is deeper than we can know. He will be missed by many.
You will be in our thoughts and prayers,
Sarah (Bullock) and Matt McIntyre

My first thoughts this morning were based on my lack of knowledge that Jay had passed away. Our early morning banter at Hohlt park always got me walking faster and farther , as if to prove some competitive goal. As I passed Jay,Sally, and Larry Tegeler and his wife, I Was mostly reminded thatI was going the wrong way.
We met Jay through The Methodist church where I soon learned that He was not only a noted leader , but THE BEST PANCAKE FLIPPER EVER TO GRACE AN APRON .Jay was also a compassionate and very knowledgable listener when the time came to practice his profession.
This is hard for me to take as Jay was close in age , had a lovely wife and family and his mother was so proud to have him as her son.
Jay was enjoying life after years of hard work, I have to believe that GOD has a mision for him that needed to be done now,and had to have someome to take charge.
To Sally , I honsetly would not know what to do with out my wife Cindy. To Jared AND Jill , I lost both of my parents in the last year. This will be a hard time for quite a while, but you need to gather around your mother and grandmother , for they need you now more than ever. To Kathyrine,You have lost a son long before you should have, for you I am truly sorry. Please don't take this as a cliche, Cindy, my sons and I are at your service , whatever you need,we would be honored to serve you and your family.
By 7:15 this morning I knew something was not right. By the time I learned the news I was dumbstuck and my response was to go out and walk five more miles for Jay.
WITH GREAT LOVE AND RESPECT,

Jay was a wonderful man to work for. He took a chance on Felix and I and we will never forget his help and the advise he offered in our lives. He was a man to model any life after, he always told us in the office "the world would be a better place if more people were like me" he could never understand how true that is. He will be missed in many lives, our heart goes out to all of the family and friends of his life.
